Cleaning Guide

So what is your jewellery made of? Check out the list below to find specific care instructions for your materials.

Plated Jewellery

14 Karat Rhodium-plated white gold and 18 Karat gold-plated products will eventually lose colour over time. This is purely due to the natural wear of the product and how often it is worn for.

So what are the benefits of plated jewellery?

Longer Lasting Jewellery

The main reason why we choose Rhodium plating for your jewellery is that it helps make it last longer.

Rhodium is a durable precious metal and provides exquisite protection to your jewellery when used as a plating material, especially gold since it is inherently soft and sensitive.

Better Shine

Rhodium plating can also help improve the overall appearance of gold. It provides the jewellery with better shine by enhancing the lustre and the reflectivity of the white gold. This results in a brighter and shinier-looking piece.

Plated products are susceptible to chemical reactions, so make sure to keep your jewellery away from chlorine, saltwater, perspiration and household chemical products. Your gold-plated jewellery shouldn't need cleaning too often; it is better to just wipe it off gently with a clean damp cloth so you don't damage the plating. If it does start to look a little dull, however, you can wipe your jewellery with a damp cloth dipped in soapy water, then "rinse" it with another damp cloth dipped in clean water. Since gold doesn't oxidize when exposed to air, you have several options for storing your gold jewellery: in separate ziplock bags, small boxes, compartments of a jewellery container, pouches, or wrapped in tissue. The most important thing is to always ensure the pieces are kept dry (not in moist environments) and separate from each other so they don't get scratched.

Stainless Steel

316L Stainless steel is easy to look after because it doesn't corrode or oxidize, and it won't break if you drop it. However, it can get scratched, so please make sure you always store your jewellery in separate containers or pouches. If your stainless steel jewellery needs cleaning, you can often just rinse it under running water. Ensure you have plugged the sink, you do not want to lose your item down the drain! Always dry it completely with a cloth to prevent water spots. More thorough cleaning can be done with a soft toothbrush dipped in a mixture of warm water and gentle detergent. Lastly, you can polish your stainless steel to make it shine, but don't just use silver polish - make sure the label of the polish you use says it is safe for stainless steel.

316L stainless steel has minimum nickel content. So for your peace of mind, if you are sensitive to nickel, pick a product that's finished with 14K or 18K Gold, as these don't react.

Cubic Zirconia (CZ) Stone

Cubic Zirconia is the finest substitute for diamonds and we love our dazzling pieces, you will too! Maintaining that sparkle is a must. Warm water & liquid soap will do wonders for restoring a crisp, clean look to CZ products. You can wash the jewellery piece with your fingers pretty gently or with a soft cloth. However, do not miss out rinsing the ring completely to eliminate all traces of detergent, or your jewellery piece might get a filmy residue that will dull the brilliance of your gem.

Luv your jewellery always!
